From a peripheral to a system-wide approach to internationalisation of HEIs: criteria on international quality in Higher Education
(სასწავლო პროცესისა და კვლევების ინტეგრაცია)
Introduction and aim: Can lnternationalisation go along without proper Quality Assurance procedures that measure effectiveness and impact?
Research methodology: The Eastern Neighbouring Area is striving for a rooted lnternationalisation of Higher Education, willing to embed a long-term perspective of lnternationalisation into teaching, learning and research functions.
Here there is a need to shift from a peripheral to a system-wide approach to internationalisation that embeds quality criteria and measures for internationalisation and that allows the ethos and culture of HEIs to become more receptive to intercultural and international perspectives and initiatives.
Results and implications: The quality of internationalisation strategies and policies proofs to be efficient and sustainable only when directly proportional to the degree of match with the HEls' mission, profile and overall developmental strategies, that need indeed to be aligned with institutional Quality Management.
Conclusion: Institutional diversified Quality Measures!
Keywords: internationalisation, Quality Assurance, celebrating diversity
