Higher Education in Post-soviet Countries: Review of the Academic Performance Indicators in Selected Former USSR Countries

Introduction and aim: Review paper attempts to produce multidimensional summary of the early outcomes of the transformations in higher education in selected former USSR countries by collecting and examining the relevant statistical data relating to the access, research output, institutional rankings and other quantitative performance indicators. The findings of the review attempt to present some relevant descriptive statistics and contribute to existing literature on the performance of higher educational institutions in selected former USSR countries.

Research methodology: The review collects and examines the data regarding the higher education in selected former USSR countries relating to the access, research output, institutional rankings and other quantitative performance indicators.

Results and implications: To be finalised.

Conclusion: The findings of the review attempt to present some relevant statistics and contribute to existing literature on the performance of higher educational institutions in selected former USSR countries.
