Importance of Using of the Internet and Social Network in Education

Introduction and aim: Discussions about the importance of the role of the Internet and a large range of its use are still relevant. The Internet is widely used in almost every aspect of modern human life. Modern medicine highlights the dangers that point to the transformation process of the modern human into a cyberman. However, this theory has not absolutely been proven yet.

The subject of our research is the growth of the role of the Internet use and its importance in education. It is an undeniably true that without the use of the Internet it is impossible not only to manage documentation but to maintain positive learning environment, not to mention the advantages of distance learning. Georgia with its educational space is a full member of the Bologna Process and gradually introduces new standards. On the basis of the latter Georgia is in compliance with European standards of education. However, some difficulties are still observed.

What are the benefits of the Internet, electronic management of documentation, electronic library, and the use of social networks in the educational process and document management? It sounds like a rhetorical question, but we cannot avoid the number of supportive arguments. The first and most important argument is accessibility of information, the simplicity of communication, efficiency and other multiple positive traits. Our research has shown the benefits of online cooperation, a high rate of student engagement, interest, and fairness of responses. Only a very small percentage ignored the questionnaires and responded in a frivolous way.

According to the results of statistical studies the survey of the direct participants of the educational space has been and always will be interesting for the audience. 70% of the respondents believe that online relations are additional but also one of the most important factors of the educational process.

Research methodology: The methods used during the study are as follows: group interviews, questionnaires, naturalistic observation, structured interviews and content analysis.

Results and implications: The study has shown that in the field of education online relations are one of the positive stimulants of the participants directly involved in the educational process. This result can be considered as an extra but one of the most important components for the improvement of the educational process.

Conclusion: In the field of education the use of electronic systems of the documentation management and introduction of electronic activities in the educational process remain to be one of the priority issues. The principles to improve distance learning should be discussed as well. Carrying out periodical statistical analysis will give us a clearer picture of the expected results. This will make the working process, as well as the teaching-learning process much easier for the individuals (teachers, pupils, lecturers, students) involved in the educational process. The Internet and social networks along with other key arguments are its defining and determining factors. To reach the maximum level of involvement it is appropriate and necessary to have dynamic communication with the direct participants, to raise their awareness. Moreover, it is expedient to periodically conduct master classes and workshops for those involved in the electronic management of documentation. It is recommended to use protected, controlled websites and other types of online resources to improve the process.
