New Technologies in Teaching and Learning Process

Introduction and aim: Neither our daily life, nor modern system of education and the learning environment is imaginable without new technologies. The report will try to answer, what does it mean medial competence in high school, how to effectively use the new media, does the frequent usage rise learning outcome. Moreover, there will be presented the opinions about new technologies. For example, Moodle and various models of e-learning, the role of its usage in the teaching and learning process. Moodle is an abbreviation of an English term module - Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment. It is multifunctional, efficient and modern system of Education Management, which is very popular in educational institutions of many countries. Its popularity is due to ease usage and transparency (information placement and availability of editing functions, taking into account the roles of the participants in the learning process, effective feedback etc.), on the other hand, to overcome the distance barrier (it is possible to join in studying process from everywhere with the help of technical conditions). The report also deals with learning theories (Behaviorism, Cognitivizm, Constructivism), which lead in difference period and was the determiner of direction in teaching and learning process.
Research methodology: Qualitative and quantitative (questionnaire) methods will enable me to study as theoretical material, as well as outline what the attitude of specialists in the teaching and learning process towards the new medians, if there are the differences in specialties, what the relationship between the new media consumption at home and at the university.
Results and implications: Knowledgeable society requires the redefinition of teaching and learning culture which is focused on the acquisition of knowledge and its generation, as well as on the development of skill and their development (for example, communication, cooperation and critical thinking skills).
Conclusion: New technologies, such as e-learning in modern and globalized world are an essential component of teaching and learning which encourages comprehensive (medial, social, communication and specialist) competence forming and its development. However, the usage of new media in teaching and learning process should not become own goal and should focused on effective achievement of goals and objectives.
