Pedagogical Practice at the Faculty of Primary Education

Introduction and aim: Pedagogical practice plays a decisive role in the formation of the student as a teacher. In this case, more importance can be given to the teaching practice through primary undergraduate educational program, as the given specialty graduates can be defined as primary school teachers without any additional regulations. Teaching practice in the elementary classes demonstrates practical skills of pedagogical and methodological knowledge adopted within educational programs. It also helps to adapt to a new workplace and shapes those practical skills that are necessary to conduct a lesson.
Research methodology: During the pedagogical practice it is possible to convey the pedagogical and psychological theories and approaches in real school life. This gives us chances to develop those skills which will help us to give the pedagogical and psychological characterization/ description of pupils as a result of being observed by students. Throughout this pedagogical practice we also study the principles about how to govern the lesson or the school itself. It also takes into account the features of teaching the people with special needs.
Results and implications: The evaluation criteria of the students that undergo such pedagogical practice are versatile and multicomponent. The exceptional criteria are the following: the pedagogical and psychological study and characterization of pupils, conducting and evaluation of educational events and lessons, the production and assessment of a pedagogical practice diary, the presentation of practice report and hence, a final assessment.
Conclusion: In the conduction of pedagogical practice students can be given the appropriate forms of pre-approved evaluation criteria. By using this criteria and conclusive presentation, we will make the final assessment of the teaching practice.
